Heidelberg Materials in Texas is seeking an entry-level Maintenance Technician to assist experienced mechanics with inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing quarry equipment and mobile machinery. You will perform preventive maintenance on crushers, conveyors, screens, pumps, and other production equipment, while learning safe maintenance practices and lockout/tagout procedures.

This role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and the ability to follow instructions in a fast-paced industrial setting.

What You'll Be Doing

• Assist experienced mechanics with inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing quarry equipment and mobile machinery.
• Perform preventive maintenance on crushers, conveyors, screens, pumps, and other production equipment.
• Learn safe maintenance practices, lockout/tagout procedures, and equipment operating standards.
• Support equipment reliability by identifying maintenance needs and reporting mechanical issues promptly.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while contributing to efficient quarry operations.

Conditions of Employment

• Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug screen, and background check.

Work Environment

Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.

Physical Demands of the Job

• Frequently stand, walk, climb stairs, ladders, and work on uneven terrain.
• Regularly lift, carry, push, and pull materials, tools, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Perform bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and twisting throughout the workday.
• Work at varying heights and in confined spaces while following safety procedures.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment requiring manual dexterity and coordination.
• Maintain visual and auditory awareness to safely work around heavy equipment and moving machinery.
