Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada, including Texas sites. We are seeking a team-oriented operator to support daily shipping, inspect mobile equipment, and aid in maintaining stockpiles and dust control at a busy quarry.

Starting pay is $22.00 per hour DOE. The role requires safety commitment, strong teamwork, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Direct truck traffic and verify load accuracy to ensure timely service.
• Operate and inspect mobile equipment and report deficiencies.
• Maintain stockpiles, loading areas, haul roads, and dust control to support site safety.
• Assist with plant maintenance, cleanup, and environmental compliance initiatives.
• Participate in safety meetings and support other plant departments as needed.

WhatYou'llBeDoing

• Support daily shipping and loadout operations by directing truck traffic, verifying load accuracy, and ensuring timely customer service.
• Operate mobile equipment, perform pre-use inspections, and report equipment deficiencies to maintain safe and efficient operations.
• Maintain stockpiles, loading areas, haul roads, shipping lanes, and perform dust control activities to support site safety and housekeeping standards.
• Assist with plant maintenance, cleanup, minor repairs, and environmental compliance initiatives across the operation.
• Participate in safety meetings, inspections, and continuous improvement efforts while providing operational support to other plant departments as needed.

ConditionsofEmployment

WorkEnvironment

Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.

PhysicalDemands

• Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and navigate uneven terrain for extended periods throughout the workday.
• Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and perform repetitive physical tasks.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials, tools, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely enter and exit mobile equipment and work at varying heights when required.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed boots.
