Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America in Texas is seeking a maintenance technician to assist with preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on quarry equipment, and to support troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. You will learn safe maintenance practices, perform lubrication, parts replacement, and housekeeping, and work closely with experienced mechanics to develop skills.

The role is on-site with competitive benefits and starting pay of $22.95 per hour DOE.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn equipment maintenance and repair techniques.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.

What You'll Be Doing

Conditions of Employment

Work Environment

• Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.

Physical Demands of the Job

• Frequently required to stand, walk, climb ladders and stairs, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and work in confined spaces.
• Regularly lift, carry, push, and pull materials, tools, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds; occasionally move heavier items with assistance or mechanical lifting devices.
• Work at elevated heights and around moving mechanical equipment while maintaining awareness of surroundings.
• Use hands and arms for handling tools, operating equipment, and performing maintenance and repair tasks.
• Must be able to wear and utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and other protective gear as required.
