Job summary

Wabtec Corporation is seeking a Materials Handler in Jackson, TN to ensure safe, accurate handling of materials for production and remanufacturing of railroad equipment.

You will work with shipping, receiving, quality, and inventory teams to meet schedules, resolve discrepancies, and maintain inventory accuracy. The role emphasizes 5S, ERP transactions in Oracle, and timely material delivery to production.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or GED or associate degree or technical certificate in logistics, supply chain or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in materials handling, shipping and receiving or warehouse operations within manufacturing—railroad, aerospace or automotive industry strongly preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with Oracle or other ERP systems required.
• Familiarity with shipping and receiving systems is a plus (FedEx, UPS, XPO, etc.)
• Forklift and pallet jack experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment.
• Receive, inspect and document incoming shipments.
• Perform accurate cycle counts and maintain inventory records.
• Pull, pack and stage materials and customer orders for shipment.
• Process shipping and receiving labels and documentation for FedEx, UPS, LTL, and freight carriers.
• Load and unload materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other materials handler equipment.
• Deliver materials to production areas in a timely manner.
• Perform necessary ERP transactions in Oracle.
• Support other materials-handling functions as needed to meet production and shipping deadlines.
• Provide production departments with material needed or requested in a timely and organized manner.
• Unloading customer material from Crates, pallets and other shipping containers.
• Follow safety procedures, ensure compliance with PPE requirements.
• Perform equipment inspections and follow our 2-minute warning as part of our safety procedures.
• Other tasks might be assigned as needed.
