Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is hiring a grinder operator for our Jasper, IN plant. The role involves setting up and operating a grinder, processing scrap material, and ensuring color consistency and proper labeling.

You will perform safety checks and assist with maintenance, with an emphasis on accuracy and efficiency in a manufacturing environment. Education of a high school diploma or GED is required, and no prior experience is necessary though manufacturing background is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED is required.
• Reading, writing and basic math skills are needed.
• Must have good manual dexterity and be able to lift up to 86 pounds solo and up to 100 with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Grind scrap material for reuse in later production runs and ensure proper labeling of gaylords and color consistency.
• Set up grinder workstation at shift start and maintain grinder.
• Feed scrap materials into grinder, monitor operations and prevent overloads.
• Log flowbins, ensure proper location, and report daily regrind to maintain inventory.
• Perform safety checks on flow bins and racks, and assist maintenance with grinder upkeep.
