Job summary

Somafina in Lindon, Utah is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join its growing nutraceutical production team. The role is on the 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM shift, with direct work on the plant floor to diagnose equipment and process issues, implement improvements, and ensure quality and safety compliance.

You will work closely with the Plant Manager and VP/General Manager, gaining visibility and a clear path toward leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or related engineering discipline strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
• Willingness to work on the production floor and diagnose real-time issues.

Responsibilities

• Owns technical troubleshooting for Lindon production operations from 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM, diagnosing equipment failures, process variation, and quality issues.
• Designs and runs process improvement experiments and validates results with production data before rollout.
• Partners with the Plant Manager and VP & General Manager to prioritize bottlenecks and improve efficiencies.
• Analyzes throughput, downtime, scrap, and efficiency to identify improvement opportunities.
• Develops understanding of manufacturing equipment and SOPs, and writes technical documentation.
• Coordinates maintenance, calibration, and minor engineering changes with Maintenance and Quality teams.
• Trains production staff on new procedures and process changes.
• Ensures GMP/OSHA compliance for engineering and process changes.
