Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. in Indiana is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for the night shift. You will be the primary engineering liaison in manufacturing operations, working closely with the night shift to resolve delays and answer technical questions.

The role emphasizes hands-on engagement on the shop floor, process improvement, and coordination with program management, quality, and operations to drive safe, reliable production in a government contractor environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Physics required.
• DOE security clearance ability required.
• Willingness to train on first shift for up to 6 months.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Night shift manufacturing environment exposure.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary engineering contact for manufacturing and tooling engineering.
• Maintain shop presence to resolve delays and answer engineering questions.
• Build relationships with night shift stakeholders.
• Escalate concerns to appropriate stakeholders.
• Liaise between program management, operations, quality, and lead manufacturing engineer.
• Ensure day-shift engineers are aware of nightshift issues.
• Represent Engineering & Technical Services for safety or quality investigations.
• Work with manufacturing engineers to standardize instructions.
• Understand contract/drawing requirements for dispositioning quality notifications.
• Perform special assignments as needed.
