Job Overview

The Maintenance Technician IV is responsible for ensuring maximum operating efficiency, maintenance, and repair of machines and equipment in production, including electrical repairs and PLC programming.

Job Responsibilities

• Respond to production requests for immediate attention to issues and problems.
• Maintain production equipment.
• Keep records of preventative maintenance.
• Create requisitions for equipment and supplies.
• Maintain and troubleshoot PLC controls, electrical/electronic systems, and general production line equipment.
• Identify problem areas and implement permanent solutions.
• Perform all assigned tasks according to safety policies and procedures.
• Produce products that exceed quality and value expectations by adhering to GMP, policies, and procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

Required Education and Experience

• Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of maintenance experience or training.
• Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes.
• Ability to make decisions based on standard practices.
• Broad experience with production machinery and equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and multitasking skills.
• Extensive electrical knowledge and training.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to weld (TIG, MIG, Stick).
• Ability to read schematics and drawings.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations.
• Basic computer skills.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• At least 5 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment.
• Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems / PSM.
• SAP experience.

Working Conditions

• Constant standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
• Handling materials up to 50 lbs.
• Repetitive work in a fast-paced environment with an average temperature of 50-60°F.
