Job Overview
The Maintenance Technician IV is responsible for ensuring maximum operating efficiency, maintenance, and repair of machines and equipment in production, including electrical repairs and PLC programming.
Job Responsibilities
- Respond to production requests for immediate attention to issues and problems.
- Maintain production equipment.
- Keep records of preventative maintenance.
- Create requisitions for equipment and supplies.
- Maintain and troubleshoot PLC controls, electrical/electronic systems, and general production line equipment.
- Identify problem areas and implement permanent solutions.
- Perform all assigned tasks according to safety policies and procedures.
- Produce products that exceed quality and value expectations by adhering to GMP, policies, and procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
Required Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of maintenance experience or training.
- Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Ability to make decisions based on standard practices.
- Broad experience with production machinery and equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and multitasking skills.
- Extensive electrical knowledge and training.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to weld (TIG, MIG, Stick).
- Ability to read schematics and drawings.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations.
- Basic computer skills.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
- At least 5 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems / PSM.
- SAP experience.
Working Conditions
- Constant standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
- Handling materials up to 50 lbs.
- Repetitive work in a fast-paced environment with an average temperature of 50-60°F.
