Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Maintenance Technician for its Humboldt facility to maintain and optimize equipment reliability, ensuring production and quality goals are met. The role requires familiarity with motors, drives, PLCs, schematics, and preventive maintenance, with a focus on safety and compliance.

The candidate should be able to read wiring diagrams, manuals, and blueprints and be willing to work the night shift (11pm-7am) with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Must maintain excellent attendance reliability.
• Experience with motors, drives, contacts, relays, timers, PLCs.
• Corrugated equipment maintenance or related heavy industrial maintenance experience.
• Ability to read and understand wiring schematics, machine manuals, mechanical drawings and blueprints.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance on motors, conveyors and production machines.
• Understanding of control circuits, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• OSHA electrical safety awareness.
• Willing to work night shift (11pm-7am) and mandatory overtime/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize equipment reliability to meet production and quality goals.
• Perform electrical and mechanical work as necessary.
• Read and understand wiring schematics, manuals, drawings and blueprints.
• Ensure compliance with Safety and Quality standards, processes and procedures.
• Read production specifications and assist with continuous improvement initiatives.
