Job summary

TekniPlex in Decatur, IN is seeking a Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot and repair medium to complex equipment, read blueprints, and support extrusion and production processes. You will weld, modify equipment, perform mold changes, and enter data in the OOPS system while following safety and HACCP guidelines.

Flexibility includes 5:45 PM–6:00 AM shifts and every other weekend; OSHA forklift and scissor/platform certifications are required.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of related experience and/or training and/or completion of the Maintenance I, Skills Assessment.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to print simple sentences and legibly complete reports and time cards.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide; compute rate, ratio and percent.
• OSHA forklift certification and Scissor/Platform lift certification/training.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs moderate to complex equipment problems.
• Reads blueprints, understands plumbing, hydraulic, pneumatic and basic electrical systems.
• Understands extrusion and production processes and materials used.
• Welds and assists in installation, modification and operation of production equipment.
• Performs mold changes and modifications.
• Data entry and some analysis of Maintenance Management System (OOPS).
• Follows plant safety/housekeeping guidelines and HACCP/food safety policies.
