Job summary

SanMar-Internal is seeking a Facilities II worker for maintenance in Ashland, VA. The role involves general maintenance, carpentry, minor repairs, and routine painting in a DC environment.

You will perform preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment, inspect belts and fluids, replace filters, and grease bearings. You may operate lifts, relocate furniture, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance within a fast-paced warehouse setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years facility maintenance experience and use of hand/power tools.
• Experience operating warehouse equipment preferred.
• Excellent organization and ability to prioritize daily responsibilities.
• Knowledge of facilities maintenance and custodial principles, procedures and standards.
• May need to obtain SanMar Lift Operator Certification per OSHA guidelines.
• Self-motivated with initiative.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Ability to follow directions and adjust priorities as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance or carpentry, minor repairs, and routine painting.
• Assist with preventive maintenance on building mechanical equipment; inspect belts, fluids, replace filters, grease bearings, seals.
• Relocate, move, and adjust furniture.
• Respond to inquiries and resolve facility operational issues.
• Maintain HAZMAT records and comply with regulations.
• Interact with outsourced building services (janitorial, shredding, etc.).
• May operate powered lift equipment.
