Job summary

CJ Schwan's is seeking a Night Shift Maintenance Technician in Sioux Falls to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment, including conveyors, mixers, ovens, and packaging machines. You will follow food safety rules and handle emergency repairs to minimize downtime.

The role requires reading safety documents, completing work orders, and lifting up to 50 lbs. A high school diploma or GED is required, with a two-year maintenance trade degree preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; two-year degree in specialized maintenance trade preferred.
• 0–2 years of related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety documents, maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to complete work orders and enter the required paperwork into a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment like conveyors, mixers, ovens, and packaging machines to keep production running smooth and prevent breakdowns.
• Follow food safety rules when working around production areas, using the right cleaning procedures and food-grade materials to keep everything up to code.
• Handle emergency repairs when equipment breaks down during production, getting things back up and running as fast as possible to minimize downtime.
• Manage spare parts and tools inventory to make sure you've got what you need when equipment needs fixing or upgrading.
• Always working safely, following OSHA regulations and keeping your area clean and in line with company rules.
