Job summary

CJ Schwan's is seeking a Maintenance Technician I / HVAC-Boiler I for the night shift in Sioux Falls, SD. The role focuses on preventive and corrective maintenance of production equipment in a food manufacturing environment, with opportunities for advancement.

Starting pay is $33.50 per hour, plus a $2.00 night differential for shifts from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., and a comprehensive benefits package including health, vision, disability, and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Two-year degree in specialized maintenance trade preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety documents and maintenance manuals.
• Ability to complete work orders and enter paperwork into a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment like conveyors, mixers, ovens, and packaging machines to keep production running smoothly.
• Follow food safety rules when working around production areas, using proper cleaning procedures and food-grade materials.
• Handle emergency repairs when equipment breaks down during production to minimize downtime.
• Manage spare parts and tools inventory to ensure you have what you need.
• Always work safely, following OSHA regulations and company policies.
