Job summary

Sara Lee Frozen Bakery is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for the 3rd shift in Traverse City, MI. The role leads and directs Maintenance Mechanics to maximize equipment efficiency and minimize downtime, with daily supervision of up to 15 technicians.

The ideal candidate has a Mechanical or Electrical engineering background, PLC knowledge, and a track record in managing maintenance programs in a manufacturing setting. The position emphasizes continuous improvement and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in maintenance/production equipment with supervisory experience in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, electro-mechanical systems, and industrial controls.
• Experience scheduling all work orders (PM, corrective, mechanical) and MSC systems at floor level.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and supervise preventative maintenance tasks, daily work orders and small projects.
• Develop scope of work, estimate work time and labor cost, determine groups necessary to complete work, prepare material requisitions and monitor material delivery.
• Monitor progress of assigned work, document scope changes and provide periodic reports.
• Ensure maintenance tasks meet quality standards and are completed timely.
• Lead an agile, high-performing team; supervise up to 15 mechanics daily.
• Participate in team meetings and decisions within the unit.
• Drive continuous improvement and Total Productive Maintenance activities.
• Appoint a trained designee to cover for absences or vacancies.
