Job summary

Winpak Portion Packaging is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for the Sauk Village, IL facility on the Night shift (7pm-7am). The role keeps production equipment and facilities running safely and efficiently, with emphasis on troubleshooting mechanical issues, performing repairs, and supporting changeovers in a fast-paced environment.

This 100% on-site position requires hands-on maintenance in manufacturing, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work night shifts in a busy plant

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance experience in manufacturing or similar environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and replace worn parts.
• Ability to read gauges and follow maintenance procedures.
• Demonstrated safety awareness in a production setting.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair production equipment, including pneumatic, mechanical, and basic electrical components.
• Replace or repair parts such as bearings, belts, pulleys, chains, fittings, hoses, filters, pumps, motors, switches, guards, and related machine components.
• Support tooling work by inspecting, changing, and maintaining punches, dies, cavities, plugs, and air cylinders.
• Perform preventive maintenance on chillers, water systems, air compressors, hydraulic systems, and related equipment.
• Assist with machine changeovers and confirm gauges and related equipment are functioning before production starts.
• Complete building and facilities maintenance tasks such as replacing filters and minor carpentry.
