Job summary

Sherwin-Williams in the United States is seeking a maintenance technician to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment across dryers, chillers, HVAC, conveyors, and related systems. The role emphasizes safety, preventive maintenance, and rapid response to breakdowns on the production floor.

This is a night shift position with a 6:00pm to 6:30am schedule and a 36/48 hour alternating pattern, plus bonus eligibility based on performance.

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years old.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future.
• Must have at least one (1) year of work experience as a mechanic in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on equipment
• Repair broken machines and equipment quickly and efficiently
• Identify causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines
• Record and report damaged, worn, or broken parts
• Order and install replacement parts for machines
• Assist in electrical projects and perform minor electrical repairs
• Assist in pipe fitting tasks and perform some installation unassisted
• Maintain and service building equipment including HVAC, lighting, water and sewer, etc.
• Maintain documentation as required
• Clean, organize, inventory, stock, and otherwise maintain shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies
• Coordinate with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines
• Maintain technical knowledge through training
