Job summary

Pretium Packaging, L.L.C. is seeking a Maintenance Technician for night shifts in Paris, IL. You will lead advanced troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC systems, mentor junior techs, and drive RCA processes while maintaining safety and equipment documentation.

The role requires 5+ years in manufacturing maintenance, PLC expertise, CMMS proficiency, and certification for forklift and aerial lifts. This on-site position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Strong understanding of PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.), HMIs, sensors, and automated systems.
• Advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills including AC/DC, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Ability to lead by example, prioritize tasks, and work independently.
• Proficient with CMMS software.
• Forklift and aerial lift certified.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply information from manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Effective communicator with documentation and training skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled systems.
• Mentor and support lower-tier technicians through on-the-job training and technical guidance.
• Participate in and lead RCA and corrective action processes.
• Program and troubleshoot PLC systems, motor controls, and VFDs.
• Perform and document preventative and predictive maintenance routines with accuracy and efficiency.
• Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
• Install, repair, and upgrade machinery and components as part of capital projects or upgrades.
• Assist in developing maintenance SOPs and equipment documentation.
• Maintain OSHA, safety, and company policy compliance during all activities.
• Support facility infrastructure including HVAC, compressed air, boilers, and water treatment systems.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and external vendors on repairs and retrofits.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor or Manager.
