Job summary

The Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs is hiring a General Maintenance Worker/Housekeeping in Minneapolis. You will perform a variety of maintenance, cleaning, and laundry tasks in a resident care setting, including floors, windows, restrooms, and furniture care, with night hours and weekend requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience with building/room cleaning and general housekeeping in a care or institutional setting.
• Ability to use hand tools and maintenance equipment safely.
• Ability to perform laundry tasks and operate related equipment.
• Comfort working nights and in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform indoor and outdoor maintenance, cleaning and laundry tasks in a resident care setting.
• Maintain floors, clean windows, dust furniture, and sanitize restrooms.
• Operate and maintain basic maintenance equipment and vacuums.
• Assist with laundry and delivery of residents' clothes.
• Follow safety guidelines and keep simple maintenance records.
