Job summary

Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a Housekeeping Supervisor to coordinate cleaning and housekeeping services for residents, families, and visitors at the Minneapolis Veterans Home campus. The role emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and a customer‑oriented environment.

You will supervise staff, train new employees, inspect work areas for health and cleanliness standards, and work with leadership to maintain a healthy living and working environment for Veterans.

Qualifications

• One year of custodial or housekeeping experience with knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment.
• Experience supervising staff or leading teams to oversee work.
• Strong communication to assign tasks and ensure procedures are followed.
• Basic computer skills for email, documents and spreadsheets.
• Ability to plan and prioritize work with established timelines.
• Ability to interact professionally with leadership, staff, residents and families.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate cleaning and housekeeping services for assigned staff to ensure consistent quality.
• Inspect work areas for compliance with health, safety and regulatory standards.
• Provide leadership, supervision and guidance to Building Services staff.
• Assist in training of new resident employees and retraining current staff.
