Job summary

Biltmore Estate is seeking an Overnight Engineer II to perform repairs, maintenance, upkeep, and operations of the Inn’s facilities, including plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and HVAC tasks. The role supports the engineering team in delivering exceptional guest service on the Estate.

The position requires working overnight on the 3rd shift, generally Friday through Monday, 10:30pm–6:00am, with varied schedule. Strong mechanical skills and safety awareness are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; additional training/certification in related trades preferred.
• Minimum two years of experience in commercial plant operations and mechanics.
• Experience with carpentry, plumbing and building mechanical systems (electrical) encouraged.
• Ability to read construction drawings, blueprints and schematics.
• Strong communication and guest service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of maintenance procedures and equipment use.
• Receive daily work assignments and review priorities.
• Maintain par stock levels of fixtures, tools and supplies and communicate needs.
• Operate and maintain electrical and plumbing systems; perform carpentry tasks.
• Ensure cleanliness, safety, and organization of the work area; assist with special projects.
• Support leadership and the Engineering team in providing guest-focused service.
