Job summary

Biltmore is seeking a Maintenance Engineer II to oversee repairs, maintenance, and operations of Inn facilities on the estate. You will handle plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry and preventive tasks across guest rooms and public areas, with a focus on delivering exceptional service to guests.

The role requires a high school diploma and knowledge of building systems; schedule typically 8:00am–4:00pm, Friday through Monday, averaging 20–29 hours per week, with hourly pay starting at $18.62 and

Qualifications

• High school diploma; additional certifications and/or training helpful.
• Thorough knowledge in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or other trades.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Previous experience with building mechanical systems preferred.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on Inn public areas and guest rooms.
• Repair and maintain plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry work.
• Maintain stock levels of fixtures, tools and parts; request supplies as needed.
• Coordinate with Chief Engineer on daily work assignments and priorities.
• Ensure safety, cleanliness and organization of work areas.
• Greet guests and communicate professionally with management and co-workers.
