Job summary

Licensed Practical Nurse position at the Long Island State Veterans Home, located on the Stony Brook University campus, is a part-time night-shift role (11:00p–7:30a) serving veterans. You will provide nursing care per the care plan, monitor residents, dispense medications, assist with daily living activities, and document progress in the chart.

Applicants must hold a NYS LPN license. Preferred candidates have 1 year of healthcare and long-term care experience and EMR familiarity.

Qualifications

• NYS LPN license is required.
• One year of healthcare experience preferred.
• One year of long term care experience preferred. EMR experience is valued.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care to residents per the care plan and policies.
• Monitors residents for treatment responses and health status changes.
• Prepares and dispenses medications per the medical plan of care.
• Assists with activities of daily living and documents observations.
• Communicates changes to supervisor and maintains required documentation.
