Job summary

The Indiana Veterans' Home seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide day shift nursing care on the unit. You will administer medications, document treatments, and support resident well‑being under moderate supervision.

Responsibilities include participating in care planning, assisting with assessments, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA, infection control, and state nursing regulations while prioritizing resident safety and timely communication with staff and families.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as an Indiana LPN; maintain licensure.
• Must maintain First Aid, CPR, and Mantoux test certifications.
• Ability to understand and communicate with residents and document nursing forms.
• Ability to follow verbal instructions and provide nursing care.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications and treatments per standards; documents care.
• Assists with orientation of new staff on the unit.
• Participates in resident care planning and updates care plans.
• Reports resident changes to physician and coordinates with RN supervisor.
• Completes nursing notes, transfer forms, and other records; gives shift reports.
