New York State Department of Health’s Veterans Home at Montrose seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to support nursing care under the direction of RNs and physicians. The role involves administering medications, monitoring vital signs, assisting with exams, and helping residents with daily living activities in a 252-bed long-term care setting.

Responsibilities include patient education, charting, and coordinating with the care team, with potential shift differentials and a comprehensive benefits

Qualificações

• A license and current registration to practice as a practical nurse in New York State; or a limited permit to practice as a practical nurse in New York State; or an application on file for a limited permit to practice as a practical nurse in New York State.
• Preferred Qualifications: experience in a Long-Term Care setting.

Responsabilidades

• Under supervision, administer medications and nursing procedures as prescribed.
• Record temperatures, blood pressures, pulse, and other vital signs.
• Observe, monitor, and report symptoms and health status changes to a RN/physician.
• Assist with examinations, treatments, and patient education for health goals.
• Support activities of daily living and personal care.
• Educate individuals and families about health, medications, goals, and procedures.
• Observe and supervise unlicensed direct care staff to ensure compliance with requirements.
• Perform housekeeping and supply monitoring to maintain a safe, clean environment.
