Job summary

Appling-Healthcare-System is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to support daily patient care under the supervision of the Nurse Manager. The role involves patient rounding, care plan execution, medication and equipment monitoring, and documenting rounds.

Compliance with infection control and PPE procedures is essential. The LPN will participate in team meetings, communicate with families, and may precept students.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Licensed Practical Nursing.
• Holds a current State of Georgia License.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification (BLS).
• 20 hours of education every two years to maintain LPN license.

Responsibilities

• Assists with direct daily care of patients and follows the care plan.
• Aids in patient rounding, reviews diagnostics, and carries out doctor’s orders.
• Intervenes and de-escalates patient behaviors using CPI interventions.
• Participates in treatment team meetings and assists with treatment plan updates.
• Keeps patient updates communicated to families and nursing home staff.
• Performs unit safety checks and adheres to infection control precautions.
• Charts patient information and completes rounds documentation.
• Counts controlled substances at shift start/end and maintains logs.
• Monitors medications/equipment and documents expirations; updates medication carts.
