Job summary

Lexicon is seeking a Lead Man in Blytheville, AR to supervise small crews on heavy industrial construction and maintenance projects, ensuring timely and safe completion under a Foreman or Superintendent.

With a minimum of three years as a craftsman and familiarity with company policies, you will also handle welding tasks, QA/QC adherence, and project paperwork, with potential overtime and physically demanding duties.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years’ experience as a craftsman on a construction site.
• Must have all required hand tools.
• Good oral communication skills.
• Familiar with company policies.
• Certification papers that prove welding ability may be required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate activities of work crews engaged in erecting structural steel, mechanical, civil, furnace repair, fabrication projects, and maintenance repairs.
• Assist workers in performance of tasks, such as welding, bolting, erecting, painting, welding, fitting, etc.
• Report discrepancies in workmanship, materials, etc. to the supervisors.
• Responsible for adhering to all company safety and QA/QC programs as well as OSHA regulations.
• Complete paperwork as instructed in relation to projects, time sheets, and JHA’s.

Position Summary

The Lead Man is responsible for the supervision of small crews in the timely and safe completion of assigned projects as directed by a Foreman or Superintendent.

This position is deemed ‘safety sensitive’ due to the fact that a person improperly performing the essential or marginal functions of the job would constitute a threat to the health or safety of the employee, the employee’s co-workers, and/or the public at large.

Current Lexicon Team Members will be given first priority to fill position.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Assist supervision and coordinate the activities of work crews engaged in erecting structural steel, mechanical, civil, furnace repair, fabrication projects, and maintenance repairs.
• Assist workers in performance of tasks, such as welding, bolting, erecting, painting, welding, fitting, etc.
• Report discrepancies in workmanship, materials, etc. to the supervisors.
• Responsible for adhering to all company safety and QA/QC programs as well as OSHA regulations.
• Complete paperwork as instructed in relation to projects, time sheets, and JHA’s.
• The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift in excess of 100 pounds frequently and climb to heights of at least 300 feet. Must be able to pull body weight with the weight of a tool belt when climbing steel bracing or ladders. Considerable amounts of bending, stooping, carrying, pushing and pulling are required. May be exposed to temperature fluctuations, dust and noise in the work environment. Must be able to work around high voltage electromagnetic fields. All of the physical demands listed are essential functions.
