Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in a high complexity Histology Lab including special stains, IHC, EM, or IF.
• Autonomy to lead multiple projects and assist staffing under department leadership.
• Experience with computers; proficient in MS Office and web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Performs and oversees a full range of Histology tasks according to SOPs and acts as an expert resource.
• Assist Supervisor to maintain Workflow and Histology Operations and report issues as needed.
• Research new workflows, evaluate instruments, write SOPs, and manage supplies in areas of expertise.
• Oversee QC reviews and instrumentation logs; provide data and monthly QC statistics; lead on-call off-shifts.
• Manage daily operations, delegate duties, and reallocate resources as needed.
• Train Histotechnologists and Lab Support Staff; participate in training and competency procedures.
• Serve as liaison between Lab Support Services and technical departments; communicate with external clients.
• Provide leadership in the absence of Supervisors and Managers; participate in performance evaluations.
