Job summary

Chenega Government Mission Solutions, LLC is seeking a Laboratory Technician III to support the Lawton Indian Hospital. The role involves performing a full range of laboratory tests across hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, serology, Blood Bank, Microbiology, and reference lab.

The lab operates 24/7 and will require overnight shifts (12s and 8s) Monday–Thursday. The candidate will startup/shutdown instruments, maintain logs, perform quality control, troubleshoot results, and assist with RPMS

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years Clinical laboratory experience to include blood bank.
• Associate degree in laboratory science or related field is required.
• ASCP or AMT certification is required.
• Knowledge of IHS systems such as RPMS or VistA is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs standardized and non-standardized clinical laboratory tests in hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, serology, Blood Bank, Microbiology, and reference laboratory.
• Performs startup/shutdown procedures on instruments and maintains logs and records per department protocol and credentialing agencies.
• Performs quality control and investigates variances; takes corrective actions as needed.
• Troubleshoots unusual or incorrect patient results and reports critical results as required.
• Maintains RPMS lab package and reference laboratory interface as needed.
• Draws blood on all age groups.
• Provides clerical support and uses computers, telephones, copiers, shredders and fax machines.
• Participates in proficiency testing and accreditation compliance.
• Supports facility and IHS mission objectives and participates in required trainings.
• Maintains a safe laboratory environment and performs other duties as assigned.
