Job summary

TriCore Reference Laboratories in New Mexico seeks a Laboratory Scientist at Presbyterian Hospital (1737) to perform waived, moderate or high complexity tests under CLIA, maintain equipment, run QC, and support POCT oversight.

Minimum qualifications span multiple pathways for LS I–IV with biology/chemistry degrees or laboratory training, plus immunization and training requirements. TriCore offers comprehensive benefits and career growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biological or chemical science as per CLIA requirements.
• Associate’s degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology requirements.
• 60 semester hours with required lab technology or science courses.
• CLIA-qualified technologist status prior to 1992 acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Performs waived, moderate or high complexity lab testing.
• Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs lab equipment.
• Runs quality control testing and ensures documentation.
• Oversees QA/QC data and participates in regulatory inspections.
• Collects specimens as needed and assists with training of staff.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in biological/chemical science

Associate’s degree in laboratory science

60 semester hours + clinical lab training</br>in either medical lab tech or science

Qualified as technologist under CLIA regulations (pre-1992)
