Job summary

GBMC Hospital in Towson is seeking a Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse for the 7:00 PM–7:30 AM shift. The RN provides direct patient care, develops care plans, administers medications, and coordinates with the health team to ensure safe, effective postpartum and newborn care.

Requires an Associate Degree in Nursing, Maryland RN license, and 1 year of RN experience. CPR certs are current; additional certifications upon hire for specialty areas may be needed.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• Current registration with the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses as a Registered Nurse.
• Healthcare Provider CPR biennial.
• Additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP) for specialty care areas are required upon hire.
• One-year Registered Nurse experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assessment: compile database, formulate nursing diagnosis, assess and reassess patient condition.
• Planning: write and update nursing care plans coordinating with care teams.
• Implementation: perform clinical nursing skills, administer medications and IV therapies, delegate duties.
• Patient Care Coordination: manage daily assignments, coordinate with disciplines.
• Teaching and Quality Improvement: document patient teaching, participate in education programs and clinical monitoring.
