Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital & Medical Center in Hartford, CT, is hiring a Lab Technologist to perform high- and moderate-complexity analyses in a hospital laboratory, joining our automated lab team.

You will handle labeling, centrifugation, and storage, maintaining instruments and reagents while meeting turnaround times and regulatory standards. Shift: Night, 40 hours weekly, with weekends and holidays rotating.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, or biological science; foreign degrees require equivalency evaluation.
• Lab experience preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication to interact with patients and health care team.
• Analytical ability to interpret data and report results.
• Motor skills for calibration, sample handling, and instrument maintenance.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship offered.

Responsibilities

• Perform high- and moderate-complexity tests per procedures.
• Ensure correct labeling, centrifugation, aliquoting, and storage of samples.
• Maintain instrumentation and related documentation.
• Manage reagents, QC materials, and supplies inventory.
• Analyze patient specimens within specified turnaround times.
• Identify instrument or procedure issues and act per protocols.
