Job summary

Trinity Health's Saint Francis Hospital & Medical Center in Hartford, CT, seeks a Lab Technologist to join the Automated Lab Team on the night shift. You will perform high complexity testing without direct supervision in a hospital setting, handling labeling, centrifugation, aliquoting, and instrument maintenance.

You will analyze patient samples, troubleshoot instruments, manage reagents and QC materials, and collaborate with the health care team to ensure timely, accurate results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical or biological science is required.
• Lab experience is preferred but not required.
• Must possess excellent communication skills to interact with patients and health care team.
• Analytical ability to interpret results and report findings.

Responsibilities

• Moderate and high complexity tests using a variety of laboratory techniques.
• Performs tests according to established procedures with accuracy and precision.
• Develops knowledge of instrumentation, procedures, and processes.
• Maintains instruments and documents maintenance activities.
• Assists with overall operation of laboratory services per policy and regulatory guidelines.
• Manages inventory of reagents and quality control materials for assigned tests.
• Analyzes patient specimens on instruments or by manual methods within turnaround times.
• Identifies and escalates problems with instrumentation, methodology, or samples.
