Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a Medical Technologist to join the St. Peters Health Partners Laboratory team in a night shift, full-time role. The candidate will perform a variety of laboratory tests to support diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of patients served.

A strong orientation program and growth opportunities are highlighted in the position. Responsibilities include onboarding, LIS training, sample preparation, result evaluation, reporting, data integrity, QC, maintenance, inventory support

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related science with approved clinical training.
• NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist license required (CLT/MT/CLS).
• Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience preferred but not required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Complete onboarding and initial training with a preceptor and be signed off to work independently.
• Complete LIS training and document competency.
• Prepare samples for analysis and evaluate specimen suitability per policy.
• Evaluate test results and organism growth for validity per protocols.
• Report test results accurately and timely per laboratory protocols.
• Maintain correct patient ID throughout testing and ensure data integrity.
• Perform quality control testing, calibration and preventive maintenance as defined by protocol.
• Take initiative to troubleshoot issues and escalate errors when needed.
• Assist with inventory management of testing reagents and supplies.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers, healthcare professionals and customers for appropriate follow-up.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related science with approved medical clinical training

NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist license (CLT/MT/CLS)
