Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated is seeking a Lab Associate II in San Juan Capistrano, CA, working Sunday to Thursday, 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM, in Molecular Genetics. The role supports general lab operations, sample handling, and data entry, contributing to accurate testing and reporting.

The position requires at least 1 year of laboratory experience (histopathology/cytology preferred) and a Bachelor's or High School with experience. Shift differential may apply for second/third shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biological Science or Chemistry (preferred).
• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 2-3 years of laboratory experience (required).
• 1 year of histopathology, cytology or other laboratory experience (required).
• 2-3 years of laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and organizes samples for testing, including racking, aliquoting and tube preparation.
• Labels, handles, processes or prepares, transports and stores specimens.
• Identifies sample problems and assists in resolving them with the licensed personnel or supervisor.
• Prepares testing equipment and assists with preventive maintenance; notifies staff of equipment problems.
• Trains other Lab Associates and supports training programs.
