Job summary

Labcorp in Houston, TX seeks a Lab Assistant for a casual/per diem role on the 3rd shift. You will receive and sort clinical lab specimens, prepare samples for testing, and perform data entry with attention to accuracy.

The position emphasizes safety and quality standards, routine equipment checks, and supporting a fast-paced production lab. Previous Labcorp experience is preferred but not required; a High School Diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience handling clinical specimens is preferred.
• Basic computer skills and data entry ability required.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information
• Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance
• Troubleshoot any specimen related issues
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards
