Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team in Houston, TX. This casual/per diem position, with 3rd shift hours, supports specimen handling, testing preparation and data entry in a busy clinical laboratory.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, basic computer skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining safety and quality standards. Prior Labcorp experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
• Scan and data entry of specimen and patient information.
• Ensure lab equipment is working and perform minor instrumentation maintenance.
• Troubleshoot specimen related issues.
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested.
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards.
