Job summary

ABM industries is seeking a Journeyman Engineer to operate, maintain, and repair critical data center infrastructure to ensure continuous uptime. The role covers electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems, with preventive, preventive, and reactive maintenance, and coordination with vendors.

The position requires 3–5 years in building engineering or facilities management, plus preferred data center experience and relevant certifications. Benefits include union-provided pension and 401(k) programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or technical certification in building systems preferred.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in building engineering, facilities management, or a related field
• DATA CENTER EXPERIENCE IS PREFFERED or experience in high critical environment buildings

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Address and resolve building system malfunctions in a timely manner to minimize disruptions.
• Respond to service requests and emergencies during and after business hours.
• Schedule and coordinate service calls with internal teams and external vendors.
• Monitor building management systems (BMS) to optimize energy usage and system performance.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and repair history.
