Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking a Controlled Storage Custodian to manage construction-related material and ensure traceability. The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and adherence to QA standards within a fast-paced lab environment at LANL in Los Alamos, NM.

The position requires 5 years of related experience (or equivalent) and skills in inventory control, MS Office, and independent task execution.

Qualifications

• Requires 5 years of related experience or equivalent education/experience.
• Experience with inventory control and material tracking systems.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access).
• Able to work independently and take initiative.
• Knowledge of construction/maintenance activities.
• Aptitude for mechanical and electrical components.
• Understanding QA standards.
• Familiarity with LANL Management Levels.
• Ability to manage material per QA and industry standards.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Attention to detail and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to obtain forklift license and CDL (desires).

Responsibilities

• Maintain and verify inventory levels across multiple systems and ensure traceability.
• Locate, pull, and stage material for construction activities.
• Store items on shelves and organize for expeditious retrieval.
• Ensure material ML compliance and adherence to codes/standards.
• Follow storage procedures and QA requirements (P330-11/12/13).
• Contribute to issue resolution for moderately complex scope.
