Job summary

RRD is seeking a detail-oriented Flexographic Prep & Ink Technician to provide vital staging, setup, and material preparation for our production press teams. In this role, you will lead ink formulations, plate mounting, and roller preparation to ensure smooth changeovers and maintain high print quality.

This 3rd shift position runs Monday through Friday, 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with rotating Saturdays. The role requires strong mechanical background and the ability to lift up to 35 lbs in a

Qualifications

• Experience with industrial tooling or complex mechanical setups.
• Ability to read technical drawings or blueprints.
• Excellent color matching and viscosity testing accuracy.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Good communication across pressroom staff.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Mount flexographic plates onto cylinders with precision.
• Prepare and inspect anilox rollers before and after runs.
• Mount gears and hardware to plate cylinders and rollers.
• Use anilox scopes to measure cell volume and roller condition.
• Maintain inventory of molded plates and order replacements.
• Coordinate shipping of worn cylinders/rollers for reconditioning.
• Receive, stage, and distribute inks to press lines.
• Collaborate with press operators to streamline setup.
