Job summary

RR Donnelley in Wisconsin is seeking a detail-oriented Flexographic Prep & Ink Technician for the 3rd shift (11:00 PM–7:00 AM). You will lead ink formulations, plate mounting, and roller preparation to minimize makeready and uphold top print quality across jobs.

Responsibilities include precision mounting plates, inspecting anilox rollers, managing ink distribution, and coordinating with press operators to streamline setups.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical skills with ability to read technical drawings or blueprints.
• Excellent visual accuracy for precise color matching and viscosity testing.
• Excellent organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Clear oral and written communication to coordinate across pressroom and inventory.
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team setting.
• Comfort in a manufacturing environment with physical activity (standing, lifting, etc.).
• Experience with industrial tooling or machinery preferred.

Responsibilities

• Precision-mount flexographic printing plates onto cylinders to ensure accurate register.
• Prepare, clean, and inspect anilox rollers before and after production runs.
• Mount gears, handles, and hardware onto plate cylinders and anilox rollers.
• Utilize anilox scopes to measure cell volume and assess roller condition for quality control.
• Maintain inventory of molded plates and reorder replacements as needed.
• Inspect, prep, and coordinate the shipping of worn cylinders or rollers for off-site reconditioning.
• Receive, stage, and distribute inks directly to press lines.
• Collaborate with press operators to streamline setup procedures and execute additional tasks.
