Job summary

Worthington Enterprises is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for our Elgen facility in Closter, NJ. The role covers routine and emergency maintenance of manufacturing equipment to reduce downtime and improve reliability.

The ideal candidate will troubleshoot mechanical issues, read schematics, and support installation, calibration, and preventive maintenance programs. Shift is 3rd; compensation is $30–$35 per hour with standard benefits.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or similar.
Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills for industrial machinery.
Knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical components.
Ability to read and interpret manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
Familiarity with preventive maintenance strategies and best practices.
Strong problem-solving skills with ability to work independently or in a team.
Good documentation skills for maintenance records.

Responsibilities

Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety standards and keep workspace clean and organized.
Routine Maintenance: Lubricate, clean, and adjust machinery for optimal performance.
Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose and fix mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
Equipment Installation: Assist with installing new equipment per safety standards.
Parts & Inventory Management: Maintain inventory for repairs and replacements.
Documentation & Reporting: Record maintenance activities and inspections.
Collaboration: Work with production/engineering to identify improvements.
Emergency Support: Respond to after-hours maintenance calls as needed.
