Job summary

UPS is hiring Building and Systems Engineering (BaSE) Mechanics to maintain electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems in a fast-paced UPS package handling facility in Saint Paul, MN. The role requires a strong electrical background and availability for a 9:00PM shift Tuesday through Saturday in a 24x7 operation.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen or otherwise eligible to work in the U.S.
• Strong electrical background and must pass electrical assessment.
• Available to work Tue-Sat 9:00PM shift in a 24x7 operation.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, adjust, and replace AC and DC electrical equipment (batteries, control stations, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, timers, servo driven equipment, photo electrical devices, transducers, VFDs, encoders).
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace mechanical components (motors, reducers, drive chains, sprockets, belts, rollers, conveyors, bearings).
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace pneumatic equipment (diverters, lubricators, hoses, coils).
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace hydraulic equipment (hoses, fittings, cylinders, pumps).
• Weld equipment as needed for supports, rails, and conveyor structures.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections on conveyors, bulk carts, and power equipment.
