Job summary

UPS is hiring Building and Systems Engineering (BaSE) Mechanics to maintain a UPS package handling facility. The role supports 24 x 7 operations and requires a strong electrical background to pass an assessment.

Candidates should be able to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts and perform preventive maintenance. Responsibilities include troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, welding as needed, and ensuring equipment reliability.

Qualifications

• Must have strong electrical background and be able to pass electrical assessment.
• Experience with AC/DC electrical equipment, motors, sensors, and control stations.
• Proficient in mechanical repair of conveyors, gears, bearings, and drive systems.
• Willing to perform welding and structural work as required by scope.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, adjust, and replace electrical equipment including batteries, relays, switches, and VFDs.
• Inspect, repair, or replace motors, conveyors, bearings, belts, and drive components.
• Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic components like diverters and hoses.
• Inspect and service hydraulic hoses, cylinders, and pumps.
• Weld handrails, conveyor supports, and related structures.
• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections on conveyors and related equipment.
