Job summary
UPS is seeking Building and Systems Engineering (BaSE) Mechanics to perform maintenance at a UPS package handling facility. The role is fast-paced, with routine interaction among hub employees. Candidates must be available for a night shift (3rd shift), Monday to Friday, 8 hours, in a 24x7 operation. A strong electrical background and the ability to pass an electrical assessment are required. The job includes preventive maintenance and diverse equipment work.
Qualifications
Strong electrical background and ability to troubleshoot electrical equipment.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical components.
Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems is a plus.
Responsibilities
Troubleshooting, adjusting, and replacing AC and DC electrical equipment including batteries, control stations, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, timers, servo driven equipment, photo electrical devices, transducers, VFDs and encoders.
Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing motors, reducers, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, belts, bearings, and transfer plates.
Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing pneumatic equipment such as diverters, lubricators, hoses, and coils.
Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing hydraulic equipment such as hoses, fittings, cylinders, and pumps.
Welding handrails, conveyor supports, and other equipment as defined by scope of work.
Performing preventive maintenance inspections of conveyors, bulk carts, and power industrial equipment.
