Job summary

Interfor Corporation in Bay Springs, Mississippi is hiring an Industrial Electrician for the night shift to keep our sawmill running safely and efficiently by installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment.

The role requires at least 3 years in industrial electrical maintenance or a related technical degree, with PLCs, motor controls, and drives experience. Interfor offers comprehensive benefits and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience or a technical degree in a related field.
Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety.
Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial electrical systems, controls, and automation equipment.
Working knowledge of PLCs, motor controls, drives, and electrical distribution systems.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Ability to work in varying seasonal climate conditions.
High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
Manufacturing, sawmill, lumber, or industrial maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform electrical repair and improvement projects throughout the mill.
Read and understand electrical schematics, equipment drawings, and blueprints.
Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair PLCs, AC drives, motors, and other control systems.
Diagnose and resolve electrical issues to minimize equipment downtime.
Adhere to an absolute lock-out policy, ensuring equipment is properly isolated before work begins.
Effectively manage and plan work assignments with minimal direct supervision.
Submit work requests and complete work orders detailing work performed, parts used, and time required.
Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
