Job summary

Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital is seeking an Imaging Support Specialist to facilitate timely availability of radiology images and communicate results to referring physicians. You will perform clerical duties, data entry, and maintain records across the health system.

The role requires coordinating with IRC, hospital staff and physicians, handling PACS and other radiology systems, and prioritizing exams to support patient care with a positive, team-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2–3 years progressively more responsible experience in a physician support setting and/or 2 years of experience in a Radiology Department
• Problem solving skills and ability to initiate creative solutions to problems
• Ability to effectively communicate with Medical Staff, departmental staff, SJMHS department representatives, physicians, other health providers and facilities
• Knowledge of Windows based programs
• Ability to utilize PACS, PACS web, RADNET, Powerchart, Powerscribe, Intelerad and/or other pertinent computer systems upon completion of training
• Additional formal clerical and computer training desirable

Responsibilities

• Function as a liaison for internal and external departments radiologists and referring physicians
• Receive and greets customers, patients and/or employees
• Notify appropriate staff and directs visitors and deliveries to appropriate areas
• Answer routine questions; provides basic information and assistance with departmental procedures
• Retrieve, relay and record critical patient information related to exams and patient care to radiologists and physicians
• Update records and files using manual and computerized filing systems
• Scan and digitizes paperwork and/or radiology images into multiple computer systems for archival purposes
• Perform a variety of general clerical duties such as copying and running errands
• Ability to utilize on-call procedures
• Utilize knowledge of departmental processes to problem solve and contact appropriate parties to maintain patient care
