Job summary

Trinity Health in Livonia, MI, is seeking a part-time Imaging Tech Assistant to support imaging services. You will help with patient care, exam preparation, and data entry in PACS/RIS/EHR, while upholding safety, confidentiality, and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience in customer service, caregiving, or support role involving direct interaction with individuals.
• Basic computer proficiency, including use of email, internet browsers, and standard workplace applications.
• Ability to learn and navigate electronic health record (EHR) systems and imaging software (e.g., RIS, PACS) with training.
• Preferred: CNA, MA, EMT, or healthcare certification; enrollment or completion of healthcare-related training (e.g., Radiologic Technology, Nursing).
• Preferred: at least six months of healthcare or patient-facing experience; exposure to hospital/clinical settings; familiarity with EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist with direct patient care under supervision, ensuring dignity, comfort, and safety.
• Communicate clearly with patients and families regarding procedures, delays, and expectations to reduce anxiety and improve cooperation.
• Verify patient identity using standard protocols and confirm the ordered exam.
• Prepare patients for imaging exams, including positioning and transfers.
• Perform delegated clinical tasks (e.g., venipuncture, POCT, MRI screening).
• Monitor patient status and escalate concerns to technologists, nurses, or radiologists.
• Assist with patient transport and flow within the department.
• Prepare exam rooms and equipment for procedures.
• Review patient information (history, labs, allergies, prior imaging).
• Document patient data in PACS, RIS, and EHR systems.
• Ensure specimens are labeled and delivered to the laboratory when applicable.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment; follow infection prevention and MRI/radiation safety standards.
