Job summary

CJ Schwan’s is hiring a Human Resources Generalist for the night shift in Sioux Falls, SD. This role supports HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, compensation, benefits, training, and engagement, ensuring policy compliance and accurate records.

The ideal candidate will manage onboarding, performance processes, data reporting, and partner with managers to deliver a positive employee experience in a growing manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in HR or related field.
• Working knowledge of HR principles, practices, programs, and procedures.
• Understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
• Strong organizational skills and multitasking ability.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.

Responsibilities

• Resolve routine employee concerns and provide guidance on employee relations matters.
• Interpret and communicate HR policies, procedures, programs, and benefits to employees and management.
• Advise managers on standard employee-related issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Support workforce relations initiatives and employee engagement strategies.
• Recruit, screen, interview, and evaluate candidates for open positions.
• Coordinate onboarding and orientation for new employees.
• Partner with hiring managers to ensure positive candidate experience.
• Assist with performance management processes and salary planning.
• Generate reports and analyze HR data to support decisions.
• Provide admin support for compensation and workforce planning programs.
• Coordinate training programs and learning opportunities.
• Support development initiatives to enhance employee skills and performance.
• Maintain confidential employee records and HR documentation.
• Ensure compliance with laws and company policies.
