Job summary

CJ Schwan’s is seeking an HR Generalist for the night shift to support talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation, training, and engagement. This role focuses on providing guidance on HR programs while ensuring policy compliance and a positive work environment at our Sioux Falls facility.

Responsibilities include onboarding, performance management support, reporting, and HR data analysis to inform workforce planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Working knowledge of human resources principles, practices, programs, and procedures.
• Understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Resolve routine employee concerns and provide guidance on employee relations matters.
• Interpret and communicate HR policies, procedures, programs, and benefits to employees and management.
• Advise managers on standard employee-related issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Support the implementation of workforce relations initiatives and employee engagement strategies.
• Recruit, screen, interview, and evaluate internal and external candidates for open positions.
• Coordinate and facilitate the new employee onboarding and orientation process.
• Partner with hiring managers to ensure effective and positive candidate experience.
• Assist with annual performance management processes and salary planning activities.
• Generate reports and analyze HR-related data to support decision-making and workforce planning.
• Provide administrative and operational support for compensation and workforce planning programs.
• Coordinate training programs and learning opportunities for employees.
• Support development initiatives that enhance employee skills and performance.
• Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
