Job summary

CJ Schwan’s is seeking a Labor Scheduler for day shift at our Sioux Falls facility. The role focuses on evaluating workforce requirements and developing effective labor schedules to support plant operations.

You will coordinate with multiple departments to align labor planning with production demands and ensure accurate workforce data, using Kronos and MS Office tools. Responsibilities include weekly scheduling meetings, trend analysis, and ensuring compliant, efficient staffing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in labor scheduling or workforce planning.
• Experience with workforce management systems; Kronos knowledge preferred.
• Strong data entry and database management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with plant departments to ensure efficient use of labor resources.
• Develop, maintain, and adjust employee schedules based on operational needs.
• Monitor and troubleshoot scheduling exceptions and disruptions.
• Communicate staffing needs and schedule changes to supervisors and employees.
• Collaborate with Production Scheduling to align labor with production plans.
• Organize weekly labor scheduling meetings with supervisors.
• Identify training needs impacting scheduling effectiveness and report to management.
• Maintain Kronos data: assignments, transfers, availability, shifts, skills.
• Coordinate shift coverage and staffing assignments with production teams.
• Track vacation, attendance, and call-in data for workforce planning.
• Report scheduling metrics and trends to Labor Scheduling Manager.
